Dr. Ivor John, General Manager of LRQA Americas Sustainability, has been selected as chair of the ANSI Greenhouse Gas Verification Accreditation Committee (GVAC). As an accredited body for the ISO 14065 standard for GHG verification, ANSI is required to maintain an advisory committee to form policies and oversee implementation of this accreditation program. In addition, the committee is responsible to oversee approval of Verification Bodies for conducting entity-level GHG verifications and project-level GHG emission reductions. As chair of this committee, Dr. John works closely with ANSI to plan GVAC committee meetings and establish future strategies for growth within the GHG verification market.
Dr. John has more than 30 years experience in the areas of meteorology, climate change services and environmental studies. In addition to serving as the Chair of the ANSI GVAC, Dr. John has provided technical advisory support to GHG voluntary and mandatory reporting schemes since the onset of these programs in the U.S.
