What is TL9000?
The purpose of TL 9000 is to define the telecommunications quality system requirements for the design, development, production, installation, and maintenance of products, hardware, software or services.
The standard is comprised of two handbooks (T1160 & T1180) which define the management system requirements of TL 9000:
Quality System Requirements Handbook - This handbook defines the common set of quality system requirements for suppliers of telecommunications products: hardware, software, or services. The requirements are based on the widely popular international standard ISO 9001.
Quality System Measurements Handbook - This handbook defines a minimum set of performance measurements and cost and quality indicators to measure progress and evaluate results of quality system implementation.
