Today, 14 October, is World Standards Day – an annual celebration of the thousands of experts who share their insight and expertise to develop international standards.
The theme of this year’s World Standards Day is ‘levelling the playing field’ in recognition of the way international standards can simplify and enhance life – providing consumers with safe, quality products from a global supply chain and enabling organisations to demonstrate their credibility; making it easier to enter new markets and develop competitive advantage, whatever their size or geographical location. A new two-minute video from ISO demonstrates the wide-ranging impact of international standards and how they contribute to so many lives on a daily basis.
As a member of the Independent International Organisation for Certification (IIOC), LRQA is proud to participate in all of the major committees helping to shape the future of the world’ leading ISO standards including ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 22000 (food safety) and ISO 45001 (the new ISO standard for occupational health and safety, set to replace OHSAS 18001).
