This three (3) day course has been developed to provide delegates with skills and experience in quality or environmental system auditing the additional information to perform management system audits applied to occupational health & safety. Case studies and presentation will be based on the OHSAS 18001:1999 standard.

Who Should Attend?
Quality managers, environmental managers, safety managers and all professional, technical or administrative staff involved in the execution of internal management system audits. Additionally, this program will be of interest to organizations considering integration of their quality and/or environmental management systems with their health & safety system.

What Will You Learn?
By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the structure and intent of the OHSAS 18001:1999 and its requirements for internal audit;

  • Apply audit techniques towards assessing conformance with the requirements for health & safety management;
    Prepare audit checklists, present audit findings and prepare an audit report;

  • Support the determination of, and follow-up to, corrective action;

  • Understand the commonality of requirements for several processes in the ISO quality and environmental as well as the OHSAS standards;

  • Prepare for process-audits that assess conformance to applicable quality, environmental and health & safety requirements.

Course Structure
Course begins at 8:30 A.M. and ends approximately at 5:00 P.M. Emphasis is placed on learning through participation. To ensure effectiveness, attendance is normally limited to a maximum of twenty (20) participants.

Previous Experience
Prospective delegates should have familiarity with one or more of the ISO quality and environmental standards but need not have familiarity with the health & safety standard.

Course Instructors
All course instructors are highly qualified and experienced both in training and in quality. They are selected on their ability to make LRQA courses both practical and enjoyable. Our instructors have a range backgrounds including manufacturing, food, service, construction, and the public sector. All continue to practice as Registered Lead Assessors.
