Internationally recognized and respected for our reputation as a global Business Assurance provider, LRQA brings independent, impartial assurance and decades of environmental expertise to its verification of our clients’ GHG Emissions Management programs.

At LRQA, we focus to help our clients assure their environmental stewardship and sustainability strategies are verifiable and accurate. More importantly, we deliver impartial and technically robust opinions which are vital to the long term credibility and success of our clients’ sustainability programs.

LRQA is a market leader in the provision of assessment, certification and training services, and over half of the world's top 200 companies choose LRQA.

Project Experience

Within the US, LRQA has helped develop Environmental Sustainability programs for clients including voluntary environmental certification schemes that have helped them demonstrate to within their own industry and client-bases the steps they’re taking to mitigate their environmental impacts.

In addition, LRQA has provided validation and/or verification services for offset projects in Korea, Indonesia, India, China, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Project scopes have included the energy sector, manufacturing, chemicals and waste handling and disposal. And, LRQA has verified approximately 1200 annual emission reports across Europe, equivalent to approximately 250 million tonnes of Co2.

Credible History of Environmental Work

In 1988, LRQA developed the first Environmental Assurance audit process, and building on that expertise, we verified the first ever independently scrutinized environmental report in 1990 (to Norsk Hydro UK Limited).

In 1995, LRQA became one of the first certification bodies awarded accreditation for the environmental management standard BS 7750. And, when ISO 14001 superseded BS 7750 in 1996, we were also one of the first to gain accreditation to deliver certification to the standard.

Over the past 20 years, we have played a significant role in developing global standards and processes to help protect the planet, including our work with those with greatest influence, be they individuals, corporations, governmental and non-governmental organizations. Most recently, our team, acting on behalf of the Voluntary Carbon Standard Steering Committee, authored the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS 2007) which will help accelerate the adoption of emissions management beyond the regulated sector.

Global Climate Change Team

Ensuring global coverage, LRQA’s Climate Change Team members are based within the Americas, Europe-Middle East and Asia, with specific Climate Change leadership teams in the USA, UK, Japan, India, China and Brazil.
