LRQA helps clients towards the goal of zero pellet losses

Following a six-pillar pledge created by Operation Clean Sweep , the OCS Europe scheme aims to control and document companies' compliance across the entire plastic supply chain, with commitments to the reduction of pellet loss.

Olivier FAUROUX, LRQA Assessment Technical Manager comments on the issue businesses face, “Accidental release of plastic pellets can happen throughout every step of the value chain, even with the implementation of existing environmental, safety, and quality management measures. OCS Europe offers a set of essential suggestions to address the problem of pellet release.”

The certification scheme, which was created by Plastics Europe and European Plastics Converters, has been developed together in consultation with Industry experts, trade associations, NGOs, policymakers, and certification bodies. “Obtaining OCS Europe certification enhances visibility throughout the plastic supply chain, leading to enhanced operational effectiveness, a better standing within the community, and an overall improvement in water and wildlife quality”, adds Oliver.

There are many actions leading to certification including, signing the mandatory Operation Clean Sweep pledge and being compliant with the scheme requirements listed in the scheme’s document.
